Great fishing in Hopedale LA in early June

This past week the fishing in Hopedale has been really good for speckled trout, Redfish, black Drum and Flounder. I have been fishing just about every day with and doing well. On the windy day’s where I cannot get out in the open water the redfish and drums have been making up most of the catch. On the day’s with light wind the speckled trout have been filling the box along with some redfish and drum mixed in. I had several different groups this week with Fathers with son’s and daughters and one double husband and wife team getting in on the great summer fishing action down in Hopedale La. Our waters are OIL FREE and the fishing is fantastic.
Give me a call and come get in on the fishing fun!

Operation REDFISH!

Big Stan Easly and son Chad in on leave from Iraq along with friends Jermy, Dave and His son Cade had one thing on their mind, REDFISH! At that is what they caught. Stan set up the trip and called me to ask if we could fit in 5th person 10yr old Cade I said no problem if it means getting a young one out fishing we will make it happen. Boy did it happen. Cade was a machine he caught the first fish the biggest fish and a tagged redfish all on the first stop he had a blast all day we all did. It was great day fishing for redfish in Hopedale goo weather and the fish were biting . The box was full to the top well before noon and we called it a day. It was my honor to have a USA soldier on the boat the day after Memorial Day thanks Chad for all that you and all our troops do! I salute you.

Stormy weather Redfish

Joan, Joe and Mike made their first trip of the summer with me on Memorial day. We were just getting into the try in Black bay when two huge storms came rolling thru sending us for cover behind Stone Island. A break in the rain and we ran to the marsh and finished the day with a limit of redfish. Despite the weather knocking us off the trout it kept it cool and comfortable fishing the marsh for the reds. Still a great day on the water in Hopedale LA.

Another Great day Fishing in Hopedale La

Fished two boats yesterday with different groups. The bite was little off from the last few days with lots of small trout. The trout were scattered . No slam dunk limits to day but a great day on the hipedale waters and happy fisherman with nice catches of trout and redfish.
Jimmy and Denise fished with me and we did decent with trout putting 25 in the box and a lot more caught and released. I have been slaying the redfish but they were also in the no biting mood we put two goods one in the box and called ita day at noon or HOT O’CLOCK! Jimmy and Denise had a great time and enjoyed being on the water catching fish,
Capt Tony Barosse helped John Bordelon and Brother and son. There were in town for the weekend and wanted to get into the fish with his son. Mostly throwbacks on the trout but Capt tony found some hungry reds to bend the rod for them.

Mark's Family Clean Up!

Skip Marks, daughter Alex and son Phillip were doing their part yesterday down in Hopedale La helping with the cleanup. They were cleaning up on the trout and redfish. We got on a steady bite with some nice trout on the fringes of Black bay with live Campo shrimp under corks. The pattern was catch some then move down the bank until we catch another stick down and catch some more. The box was looking good when they shut down two more spots and we found them thick every cast live shrimp or plastic and the limit was full in short order. Ran back into the marsh and put 11 redfish on top of the trout and the box was full to the top. Awesome clean up job by the Mark’s Crew.

GOOD FRIEND"S

Planned a scout trip yesterday with my friend Capt Ron his brother Rick and another freind of mine Claude. Well I got detained and could not make for daylight so Ron, Rick and Claude headed out and smashed the trout before I even wet a line. But they left the trout to come pick me up at the dock, now that there are some good friends. Well we wanted to do some scouting so we made a big round all thru Hopedale and Delacroix marshes catching some trout and reds along with some drums. So we headed back to where they left the trout this morning and they were still there. Finished up the limit of 100 trout around 3PM. Awesome day!
