December still going strong

HAMMERED’ EM
Yesterday with the weather warming up the trout and redfish went wild. I had Pete his wife Deb, and Arron and Sarah who were in from NY City for the holiday’s doing some family fishing or should I sat catching. It was on from the start and the bite got better as the fog lifted. All under a cork with shrimp or plastic no difference. Awesome day to say the least and nice and warm for a few days before Christmas.

TRICK OR TEAT TROUT!

TRICK OR TREAT!
Day before Halloween Trip turned out to be a treat Things started out a little slow but by mid morning we were 0on the trout over an oyster reef near lake Clabasse steady action until the limit was full of nice speckle trout. At first they would hit nothing but live shrimp but about half way thru started to take plastic along with the shrimp. We made a short run to a protected cove and finished off the box with some nice redfish and a huge flounder. Great day for Trick or Treating on Halloween eve.
Just a few short of the limit!

Got' em Again

Had Ray Loupe, Collin Murphy and Ray Laviolette on board yesterday and had a great day fishing. We got a little bit of a late start around 8:00 am but the first stop had trout coming in the boat. The bite did not last long as soon as the tide quit it was over. Ran little ways to find the tide starting to fall and got on a few more trout and a nest of redfish and the box was looking good. We found some birds working and wee catching trout every cast with only a few throwbacks but most going in the cooler, Left them biting and hit the dock at 2 :00 pm with a nice load of fish

OCTOBER FISHING FEST!

DOUBLE SMACK DOWN’S
Back to back last two days were pretty much the same story SPECKLED TROUT and REDFISH in the interior marshes in Hopedale. Both days got right on the trout early with live campo shrimp and plastic’s under corks. Fishing the moving tide at the mouth’s of lakes and points with moving water. After the limits were full on trout we moved a little closer to the shoreline and the redfish were there ready to take our shrimp and do battle. AWESOME two days and great fall weather. Hopedale Speck's and Red's

Had Mark. Mike , and Shawn on board yesterday great group and lot’s of fun. Started out in what looked like to be calm conditions but somebody kicked on the fan and the east wind was pumping like it has been the last few days. We headed to the edges of the outer bays and used the land to our advantage breaking the wind. Got right on some nice trout at our second stop throwing plastics a dozen in the box and we had to move on. That was the pattern for the day keep moving and building a box and throw live shrimp and plastic under corks. The trout were mixed in size but mostly keeper fish. With a box looking good we turned to MR REDFISH for some line stretching action. First pond and Mike was hooked up and the drag screaming. We worked this pond with Mark, Mike ,and Shawn each getting a bull red and several reds just undersize. Perfect way to end the day.

Great Fishing in Hopedale LA

Britt, Josh, Jeremy , and Mike made the trip to Hopedale ready for some spreckled trout and redfish action. These guy’s have been with me a lot over the years and they alway’s have a good catch and good time this day was no different. The windy conditions had things starting out slow but when we got on the speckled trout they were coming the boat steady with both plastic,s and live shrimp. Well the wind finally got to strong and shut down the trout. We hit some points and ponds and put some redfish in the box to top off the pile of trout. Great day with some really good guy’s. They can’t wait to come back in the fall and do it again.

Great to be fishing!

Great to be fishing, yesterday I helped out Capt Dude with a group. We started out in very windy conditions with a high tide and coming in hard. Got some live ones from Campo’s and headed to the outside edges in search of trout . Fished where we could out of the wind catching good bit of speckled trout but a lot were too small to keep but fun to catch. Around 9:30 a dozen or so in the box and the wind kicking up we decided to head for the marsh and try our luck with the reds. The redfish proved to be tough as well but I kept on the move and was determined to put box of fish together for thes guy’s. It was one fish here and there and it took awhile but the box was looking a lot better after awhile. Pleasant temps finally and it was a great day fishing as well.

Great fishing in Hopedale LA in early June

This past week the fishing in Hopedale has been really good for speckled trout, Redfish, black Drum and Flounder. I have been fishing just about every day with and doing well. On the windy day’s where I cannot get out in the open water the redfish and drums have been making up most of the catch. On the day’s with light wind the speckled trout have been filling the box along with some redfish and drum mixed in. I had several different groups this week with Fathers with son’s and daughters and one double husband and wife team getting in on the great summer fishing action down in Hopedale La. Our waters are OIL FREE and the fishing is fantastic.
Give me a call and come get in on the fishing fun!

Big Stan Easly and son Chad in on leave from Iraq along with friends Jermy, Dave and His son Cade had one thing on their mind, REDFISH! At that is what they caught. Stan set up the trip and called me to ask if we could fit in 5th person 10yr old Cade I said no problem if it means getting a young one out fishing we will make it happen. Boy did it happen. Cade was a machine he caught the first fish the biggest fish and a tagged redfish all on the first stop he had a blast all day we all did. It was great day fishing for redfish in Hopedale goo weather and the fish were biting . The box was full to the top well before noon and we called it a day. It was my honor to have a USA soldier on the boat the day after Memorial Day thanks Chad for all that you and all our troops do! I salute you.

Stormy weather Redfish

Joan, Joe and Mike made their first trip of the summer with me on Memorial day. We were just getting into the try in Black bay when two huge storms came rolling thru sending us for cover behind Stone Island. A break in the rain and we ran to the marsh and finished the day with a limit of redfish. Despite the weather knocking us off the trout it kept it cool and comfortable fishing the marsh for the reds. Still a great day on the water in Hopedale LA.

Another Great day Fishing in Hopedale La

Fished two boats yesterday with different groups. The bite was little off from the last few days with lots of small trout. The trout were scattered . No slam dunk limits to day but a great day on the hipedale waters and happy fisherman with nice catches of trout and redfish.
Jimmy and Denise fished with me and we did decent with trout putting 25 in the box and a lot more caught and released. I have been slaying the redfish but they were also in the no biting mood we put two goods one in the box and called ita day at noon or HOT O’CLOCK! Jimmy and Denise had a great time and enjoyed being on the water catching fish,
Capt Tony Barosse helped John Bordelon and Brother and son. There were in town for the weekend and wanted to get into the fish with his son. Mostly throwbacks on the trout but Capt tony found some hungry reds to bend the rod for them.

Mark's Family Clean Up!

Skip Marks, daughter Alex and son Phillip were doing their part yesterday down in Hopedale La helping with the cleanup. They were cleaning up on the trout and redfish. We got on a steady bite with some nice trout on the fringes of Black bay with live Campo shrimp under corks. The pattern was catch some then move down the bank until we catch another stick down and catch some more. The box was looking good when they shut down two more spots and we found them thick every cast live shrimp or plastic and the limit was full in short order. Ran back into the marsh and put 11 redfish on top of the trout and the box was full to the top. Awesome clean up job by the Mark’s Crew.
