GIRLS DAY OUT!

Yesterday I had April and Bobbie on board for a day of fish catching action. They came all the way from south Carolina with husbands James and Walter who are fishing the RDFISH Tourney Friday. James set up the trip for the girls while they are out pre fishing the redfish. I went over the maps with James pointing him to some redfish area’s to scout and the girls and I loaded up and in search of speckled trout. April and Bobbie caught on real quick and in no time trout were jumping in the boat, they kept me pretty busy for a solid hour. A couple of moves and the limit was full. April said it was better than shopping for shoe’s AWESOME! The best fishing trip of their lives and it was not over. Time to get some redfish which proved a little tougher several spots but finally we found a few and the drags and girls were screaming. Great day on the water for sure and plenty fish to go back home with.
THE FISHING IS ON RIGHHT NOW AND I HAVE QUITE FEW DAYS OPEN SO GIVE ME ACLL AND COME CATCH YOU SOME.

OCTOBER MARSH FEST

This past week the weather has been less than perfect very windy but that did not seem to bother the specks and reds from biting. Live shrimp under corks and some plastic but mostly live was putting them in the box. FALL FISHING IS KICKING IN
Kevin Hunter on Saturday was the only one to make it the rest of the group Cancelled MISTAKE. We smoked them trout reds, and drum

Monday Ray Huntzicker and the MARSH FEST had one spectacular day with box full of trout redfish and drum in the 20+ mph wind.

Teusday back at it again with AJ Dempster and his Dad and Don. Started off right in the trout then they stopped cold with little to no bites for over an hour till we found them tearing up a school of shrimp. Finished up and left them biting.

THE FISHINGIS ON IN HOPEDALE GIVE US A CALL AND COME CATCH’EM UP! I have several openings Your boat is reday and waiting..

Fall Fishing Start Up!

Perfect weather yesterday nice and cool in the morning comfortable all day. Brandon brought along his wife Chelsea and good friend Travis who is just out of the army, Thanks for your service Travis. Ray Huntzicker also joined the group to do some filming and catch a few fish. Things started out a little slow we picked away at the scattered trout for awhile building a box. About mid morning we got on a good bite of nice trout and drums with shrimp under a cork and by noon the box was full. Great day on the water it looks like the trout are starting to make their move to the fall pattern.

Dias family fishing trip

Chuck Dias and family out with us yesterday for a family fishing trip. It was little windy for the trout but everyone said they would rather catch redfish so redfish it was. Two boats today with Capt Tony helping me out with the group. Things started off right with black drum and redfish. A steady bite all morning filling the box with reds, drum and a few trout. Birthday girl Joyce Chuck’s wife had the hot hand today catching the most and the biggest fish for the day and to top it off it was her birthday too. Happy Birthday Joyce! Great trip with a nice family and plenty of redfish and drum on the half shell for the grill. In fact we fired up the grill at the dock and put some redfish on for lunch fresh right out of the water to the grill!

BACHELOR PARTY REDFISH!

Chris Cullen and the gang were down in Hopedale again to fish and celebrate Kevin’s bachelor party fishing trip. They came down the night before and stayed at the camp and were ready to go early. I had two boats today with Capt tony helping out with half the group. We started out a little late because I was late getting there no matter the fish were waiting for us. Started out fist stop first cast Kevin nails a nice red good way to start. Both boats moved around picking away at trout but nothing going strong. Shifted gears and turned to redfish working the shoreline and points. I got on a good school of big reds and the other boat was close by so we called them over to join in on the fun. Drags screaming and rods bent it was wild for a solid hour. A lot of the reds were over 27 “ so we turned them back after enjoying the fight. It was perfect we had the whole group on the fish just 75 yards between the boats with all the hollering and laughing going on it was blast. The guy’s caught reds till their arms hurt. Headed for the dock to take some pictures and clean up the catch. What a memory trip for a bachelor party, a day to remember for sure. AWESOME DAY!

HOT WEEKEND !

Boy was it hot this past weekend 90 to 100 degrees!
The fishing is still going strong you just have to get out early and brave the heat and get back before it gets too hot. The speckled trout are going into their last spawn for the summer before starting the transition into the marsh for the fall. Come on cooler weather.

August: Birthday Fishing Trip

Tayler, Garrett, Amy, and Patrick made the trip to Hopedale La from Monroe for Garrett’s Birthday. This was the first trip for Tayler, Amy and Patrick Garret is a repeat fishing offender. Any way the trip started off bad a fuel filter problem got in the way but I got it drained and we were on track again. First stop fish coming in the boat Specks and white trout mixed but quick action and rods bent nice way to start the day. Next stop Tayler and Garret and Amy bull reds in the boat. I took us a little further out to some islands and we found some bigger trout ready to take the bait steady action and the box looking good until a storm blew in and stopped the bite. Headed around the storm in search of redfish and had some pulling drag reds on the line. We worked the shoreline catching some keeper reds and a bunch of rat reds too small to keep and ended the day with the rain right on our tails on the way in. AWESOME BIRTHDAY PRESENT FOR GARRET! The rods were bent all day long.

TROUT TRAIN ON A ROLL

The speckled trout are going nuts in Hopedale Louisiana! The past week has been some great fishing even with the tide not moving much and thunderstorms the trout have been in the mood to bite. The pattern is an early morning bite for the most part with catching most of the fish before 9;00 am. Live shrimp and Gulps under a cork has been doing the damage. With the Miss River on the fall I look for the specks to stay on for the rest of the summer.
